Recipe & Review: Mulled Apple Juice with Pago

Party season is well and truly upon us now, with lots of bevvies to go round! And a good cocktail must have is definitely a top notch fruit juice. Pago Fruit Juice is just one of those, but even if you’re a designated driver for the night, or staying alcohol-free, then Pago is the drink for you.

Founded by Jakob and Franz Pagitz in 1888, Pago fruit juices source the best natural ingredients from around the world to create their 15 brilliant flavours.  Back in the day, their only flavours were apple, blackcurrant and redcurrant, absolute classics!

Flash forward to 1920, and Jakob Pagitz junior joined the business and developed their unique juice pressing technique. This meant that the juice is pressed, rather than filtered, to keep the maximum amount of nutrients and essential vitamins as possible.

Speed up to 1989 and the brand developed their signature green bottle, and Pago have had over 125 years of delivering top quality juices!

Pago fruit juice do have so many wonderful flavours, but what they also have is a no added sugar range. Meaning you get the fruit, the whole fruit, and nothing but the fruit. The no added sugar range also includes orange, tomato and multivitan tropical.

The drinks are mainly stocked in bars and cafes, but you can order packs of their fabulous green bottles online from Drink Supermarket, just in time for the festivities to begin.

Pago Juice kindly delivered a pack of their cloudy apple for me to try which I was very excited to try as it was part of their no added sugar range, and contains a vitamin c boost. All of the juices have no pesky hidden ingredients, and are also gluten free.

Unlike different types of apple juice on the market, you can actually taste all of the apple and not just sugar. It’s super fresh, and you can tell that the pressing of the juice is vital to getting it to taste like you’ve just picked the apple from your own garden! The juice doesn’t contain any bits either, so you can tell why it’s perfect for everyone, cocktails or not.

I’ll personally be drinking more non-alcoholic beverages than boozy ones, so I decided to make a lovely mulled apple juice recipe that’s perfect for those who will be avoiding alcohol this winter.
